Humanization

I already accept that I won't be cured, but it would be hard for me to accept that I won't be looked after.

Albert Jovell

Humanization consists of providing care to people in a dignified, supportive, respectful and empathetic manner, always taking into account their decisions and values. A dehumanizing feature of current health care is reification, that is, reducing a person to the status of a thing. The patient has become, through objectification, a client.

At 4Embryologists we want to return to what is important: to be more human, closer, to make the patient feel that there is empathy behind the caregiver (who at some point in their life has been, is or will be a patient), that their life and their needs have value...; we place Humanization at the center as an integral part of the processes involved in any healthcare structure, because people are the most important thing.

As we have already mentioned, the part that corresponds to 4Embryologists in its area of Humanization and Communication is the Humanization of healthcare spaces and health-related events through a very powerful tool: arts.

Art is placed at the service of Humanization to recreate environments that help patients and health professionals to improve. The World Health Organization (WHO) has studied for the first time the close relationship between art and health and calls on governments to support art in health systems. This study highlights the benefits of theatre in adolescents, the beneficial effects of music on mental health and dementia, dance in obesity and diabetes, arts and crafts in concentration and mental health; it also exposes the benefits of music and creativity as a supplement to severe treatments that can mean a great improvement in the patient. Furthermore, it even discusses the economic component, stating that these activities can be, depending on the ailment, more profitable than some common treatments.

Arts are not only beneficial for patient's health, but also for the professionals who work in these places. Recent studies have shown that exposure to arts and culture in the workplace would contribute to the development of reflective and innovative thought processes, stimulate creativity and imagination, reduce stress and improve mood and quality of life during working hours.

Creating a welcoming and attractive working environment will also have benefits for the employee's attitude to work, mood and performance. All of the above, after all, is transferred into the care and attention of the healthcare spaces, the employees and the patients. At the same time, this also carries with it a brand image and corporate values as a company, i.e. the company's values are also expressed through art and care.

Thus, at 4Embryologists we offer initiatives related to the promotion of art and culture in healthcare spaces through different ways depending on the needs of the company or the space, always in favor of improving working environments and patient experience:

  • Permanent or temporary exhibitions at conferences and congresses.
  • Concerts, collaborative artistic dynamics in conferences and congresses.
  • Branding Art. Study of artistic line around the values of the company: reconditioning spaces around art.
  • Teambuilding: strengthening the interpersonal relationships of employees through workshops and artistic experiences.
  • Contact with artists: sale of pieces of art related to the health field.

We can design together a new way of working, living and enjoying work by improving the spaces and experiences of your employees and patients. We will review your space without obligation and make a proposal according to your needs and identity as a company.
